City Gives Web Site A Fresh Look

ENID, OK (December 2, 2010) – The City of Enid will debut a new public website on December 6, 2010. The website boasts a crisp layout with easy to a navigate drop-down menus. Readers now are greeted by Boomer’s watermark and a panoramic view of Enid as the background.

Along with easier accessibility, the opening page features up-to-date traffic information and upcoming events around the area, as well as the latest news of Enid. Readers also can subscribe to the E-Notifier which allows them to customize the city news that they’d like sent to their email.

A translator is also available to offer the website to non-English speaking readers. Readers who prefer using a mobile device will also be able to view an optimized version of the website. Viewers can also easily sync their Outlook, Google or Yahoo calendar to the community calendar featured on the website.

The website features a new contractor’s gateway. In attempt to provide paperless correspondence, contractors will now be able to review and submit bids entirely electronically. Previously contractors were only able to manually send in or drop off their bids and information.

In an effort to include reader feedback, Our Community was created. Our Community is mainly categorized for those living in Enid, visiting Enid or doing business in Enid. Readers can now be directed to a comprehensive menu including information about city specs, permits, wards and maps.

Also being updated along with the new website will be Twitter and Facebook accounts which will provide up-to-date news and events about the city and departments.
